It's a thursday morning and my alarm goes off earlier than a normal weekday - why? Cos it's festival time, I've still not finished packing and we have a four hour drive "darn sarf" to Somerset! We're off to Sunrise Celebration!

The aim was to leave at 8am to beat the queues but we manage to get away for 9am (not that bad really when you are co-ordinating about 15 people in four cars!)

Traffic's looking good, no major roadworks, but its looking kinda damp and cloudy??

Rain causes us to up the windscreen wiper speed to super-squeaky setting and half of us realise that it would have been a good idea to bring wellies, to avoid trench-foot! So we decide to stop in Glastonbury for a quick pint and a wellie-hunting mission.

With wellies and XXXL y-fronts in hand (thats another story altogether!) we head to the festival site but are met with a three mile tailback. Doesnt matter though, nothing is going to spoil this mood - dancing in the rain is ace fun!

Three hours pass, the excitement is beginning to fade and the frustration is beginning to set in. Eventually after another massive downpour, a police officer comes along to explain the festival has been cancelled and we need to move on!

We find a place to bed down for the night but the rain continues throughout the night, we get confirmation from a friend working on the site, that it is a complete lake of mud and there is no hope of the festival being rescued......so we pack up our stuff and head home (another 4 hours in the car!)

Oh well, on our return we set about creating our own mini festival and party the weekend away in our locality instead! Job's a gud un!!
